There are three ways to decaffeinate coffee and this is widely accepted to be the best. 

Our decaffienator is based in Mexico and uses the crystal clear spring water from Pico de Orizaba—the highest mountain in Mexico.  After fist steaming the green coffee beans to soften it is then washed in flavoid saturated water which disolves most the caffeine but very little of the other flavour chemicals.  The water is then scrubbed by an activated charcoal filter and reused for the next batch.  The result is truely authentic tasting decaffienated coffee.

Smooth taste, excellent service!

Having discovered Pollards back in February 2026, whilst on a visit with my daughter to the University of Sheffield, I have been a regular online buyer of their coffees. My favourite has become Monsoon Malabar, but I wanted to try a decaffeinated coffee for drinking later in the day.
I have recently tried Mountain Water decaffeinated and am not disappointed. Although it may not quite have the depth of flavour of Monsoon Malabar, it still provides a decent cup, smooth and without a bitter aftertaste. I would recommend if you are in need of an alternative to your caffeinated version. As always, the service, communication and delivery from Pollards is exceptional.

Absolutely fantastic, such a delicious coffe and no bitter after taste. For a decaffeinated coffee there is no compromise or lack of enjoyment. I will be ordering again next week and a larger amount. I dont ever want to run out. I may look at the other decaffeinated ones and see if there is another to try. Thank you Pollards for a real proper cup of coffee.

Good-tasting decaf

This is the only one of 4 different coffees I bought from Pollards that I've tried so far. Since I went "decaf only", I've found some tasteless coffees. But this isn't one of them, it has a nice tang which doesn't disappear when I swallow. Very nice! It's on my "repeat" list.
